Cain and Able |

Personally ... I see it like this ... Cain and Able Cain killed his brother Able when the Bible record only recorded Adam, Eve, Cain and Able. However, when God kicked Cain out into the world Cain is recorded as saying: Genesis 4: 13 Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is more than I can bear. 14 Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me." To which God replied: Also in Genesis 4: 15 But the LORD said to him, "Very well; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. Who is God protecting Cain from? Science has developed a theory that Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens lived together at the same time in a few places on earth. I theorize that this is true. I think there were people here before God created Adam and Eve. When I say people I do not necessarily mean Homo Sapiens. Now take a look at another interesting scripture, one that will be very hard to reconcile with a fundamentalist view of the scripture. One that requires us not only to look at the Canon of the King James or NIV but also to look at other ancient texts. We must ask what ancient manuscripts we would reject. For instance would we reject a scripture that is quoted in Jude because it is not in the canon of the Bible? Would we then exclude Tobit and the Maccabees? I can not discount these writings and then turn around and use Josephus to confirm the canon! No ... I will not discard thousands of years of scripture because it did not make the grade as the canon of scripture. The scripture of which I write is Genesis 6: 1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." We know from the book of Enoch that the 'Sons of God' referred to here are angels led by a most difficult spirit to comprehend. How does one classify a spirit that rapes women and kills men so that he can have their women? Such is the demon Asmoday. Spoken of in the Book of Tobit. So who were these people? We know that there were people here 8000 plus years ago. If creation took place in six days 6000 years ago these people could not have existed. Having said this let me press your buttons even more and tell you that I think the Bible is the true word of God and that God is our creator an Father. I also believe the Bible is not the history of the world but is the history of God's children. Therefore, when Cane killed his brother and God sent him out into the world, he was in mortal danger from those people who were already there. Were those people Neanderthals? Maybe they were some other form of human like animal. I just don't know. I think there are a finite number of God's offspring. How they are dispersed into the world is a mystery to me, but if God was creating an incubator, as I believe He was, then it is likely that He created animals that were near human in the process. These near humans have mostly died off but thanks to the wonders of inter breeding there are still remnants of these creatures across the globe in the form of all the aboriginal peoples. Truly science can not think that earliest man came solely from Africa! Where ever man started would most likely have the heaviest current population centers. People are herding animals. We do not set off in small groups without a purpose. Even the nomads are going somewhere. People are city builders, town builders, family makers not solitary hermits. Sure there are hermits around but they are not spreading humanity they are dieing rejects of the herd. The herd makes laws to keep the herd together and armies to protect the herd. The leaders of the herd work to protect it, have the best feed, the best breeding stock and the best shelter but they (by their very activities) shelter and feed the lesser animals in the herd. They have rationalized the character of the herd and developed a system to provide for and control the herd. They, as all animals are, are intent on their own survival most of all. Cain recognized he was being cut from the herd. He was being cut from the herd in more than one way. His spirit was now dead in sin. God was also cutting his animal carcass out of the herd. No wonder he was afraid. A good friend of mine was in a conversation recently with someone else. I was eaves dropping. I heard the most wonderful and enlightening comment come from his mouth. My friend is Jewish. This is what he said. "Judaism is not a religion it is a lifestyle." Suddenly, I had an epiphany! It is more than a lifestyle! It is a birthright. The epiphany I had was not a sudden understanding of this facts but rather a sudden understanding of how to write what I want to write in this blog. The Bible is pretty clear on the subject that there were people here (on Earth) before Adam and Eve. (Cain was afraid of what people would do to him, so God gave him a mark to protect him.) The Apostle Paul's letter to the Romans makes it clear that Israel will be saved by virtue of God's exclusive covenant with them. Up until Christ therefore the Bible was not for the world but for the people of God, the Jews. The Bible is not the History of the world, it is the History of the Children of God. Only the Jews have the right to claim this by virtue of their birth, Christians should therefore remain humble in the knowledge that theirs is not a right but a mercy! Only the mercy of God allows us (non-Jews) to be saved from the coming end of this life. There is no way for us to behave well enough to impress God! We can not earn our way into His family. We are being adopted and that adoption is only based on God's will not ours!
