Salvation

Please be advised, there is no way to reach atonement with God other than faith in Jesus Christ.  You can't be a good person and impress God.  No religion will provide salvation and eternal life for you or your family.  I am sorry if you've arrived at any conclusions that have led you to believe that there was some other way.  There just isn't.

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, He gave His only son that whoever believed in Him would not perish but have life eternally.”

No one is righteous:

Romans 3: 10.  As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one;

 11.  there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

 12.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."

 13.  "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips."

 14.  "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."

 15.  "Their feet are swift to shed blood;

 16.  ruin and misery mark their ways,

 17.  and the way of peace they do not know.

 18. "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

All have sinned:

Romans 3: 23.  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Wages of sin and the gift of God:

Romans 6: 23.  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in  Christ Jesus our Lord.

God gave His Son:

Romans 5: 6.  You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

 7.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.

 8.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

 9. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved:

Romans 10: 1.  Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

 2.  For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

 3.  Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

 4.  Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

 5.  Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."

 6.  But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, `Who will ascend into heaven?' " (that is, to bring Christ down)

 7.  "or `Who will descend into the deep?' " (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

 8.  But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,"  that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:

 9.  That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

 10.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

 11.  As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

 12.  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

 13. for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Present Yourself a Living Sacrifice:

Romans 12: 1.  Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual  act of worship.

The Message of the Cross:

1 Corinthians 1: 18.  For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

The Gift of God:

Romans 3: 22  This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,

 23.  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

 24.  and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

 25.  God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,  through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--

 26.  he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Assurance of Salvation:

1 John 5: 13.  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Assurance of Forgiveness:

1 John 1: 9.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit:

Matthew 3: 11.  "I baptize you with  water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

John 14: 16.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—

17.  the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be  in you.

Acts 1: 5.  For John baptized with  water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

 6.  So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"

 7.  He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

 8. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Acts 2: 4.  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues  as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 19: 1.  While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples

 2.  and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when  you believed?"   They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."

 3.  So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?"   "John's baptism," they replied.

 4.  Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."

 5.  On hearing this, they were baptized into  the name of the Lord Jesus.

 6.  When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues  and prophesied.

 7. There were about twelve men in all.

Spiritual Gifts:

1 Corinthians 12: 8.  To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,

 9.  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

10. to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,  and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

11. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
